Shipping and Cash on Delivery Across Egypt

This page covers how cash on delivery works, when a deposit is asked for and when it is not, what delivery costs by region, and what to do if a parcel arrives wrong. If you are reading it before ordering, the piece currently in stock is the Reflection Polo.

Cash on delivery

Cash on delivery is currently the only payment method. There is no card payment on this site, no step in the checkout that takes money from you, and no payment details stored anywhere. You place the order with your name, your phone number and your address, and nothing else.

What happens after that depends on where the parcel is going. In Cairo and Giza you pay nothing when you place the order, and the courier collects the full amount - the order plus delivery - in cash when the parcel reaches you. In every other governorate we ask for a deposit of half the order value first, and the section below sets out exactly how that works.

Please have the exact amount ready where possible, and make sure the phone number on your order is one you will answer. Couriers call before they arrive, and an unanswered call is the most common reason a delivery fails.

Paying a deposit outside Cairo and Giza

Orders going anywhere other than Cairo and Giza are confirmed with a deposit of 50% of the order value before the parcel is sent out. The other half is paid in cash to the courier at your door, exactly as a Cairo or Giza order would be. The deposit is not an extra charge and nothing is added on top of it. It is simply part of the order paid earlier than the rest.

None of it happens on this website. You order in the normal way, without paying anything and without entering any payment details. One of our team members then telephones the number on the order, within 48 hours of you placing it, to confirm what you have bought, check the address, and give you the details for the deposit. The exact figure is agreed with you on that call, and the parcel is sent once the transfer has come through.

We do not publish transfer details on this site, and we do not send them to you before that call. If a message reaches you asking for money against an Rflx order and you have not spoken to us on the phone first, do not send anything. Get in touch through our contact page and we will tell you whether the request came from us.

Nothing needs preparing for that call beyond having your phone to hand. We go through the size, the colour and the address with you, then give you the transfer details, and anything you want to ask about the order can be asked there rather than waiting on a reply to a message.

How much is the deposit?

Half the value of your order. We agree the exact figure with you on the confirmation call rather than printing a number here, because it depends on what you have ordered and how much of it. Once that figure is settled the balance is fixed, and the balance is what the courier will ask for at the door. Nothing further is added afterwards, and the price you saw when you ordered is the price you pay in total.

If you order more than one piece together, the deposit is still half of the one order rather than half of each piece separately.

Where do I send the deposit?

To details we give you on the phone, and nowhere else. They are not printed on this page, they are not shown at checkout, and they are never the first thing you hear from us. The order of events is always the same: you place the order, we call you, and the details come out of that conversation.

This matters more than it may look. Stores in Egypt are routinely impersonated by people who message buyers with their own account details and hope the buyer does not check. Because ours are only ever given out on a call that we have made to the number on your order, anything reaching you by another route is not from us. If you are ever unsure, ask us directly before you send anything.

Do I pay a deposit if I live in Cairo or Giza?

No. Orders to Cairo and Giza are paid in full to the courier when the parcel arrives, and nothing is transferred beforehand. That is the whole of the difference between the two cases.

The rule follows the governorate on your address, not the delivery band. So an address in Qalyubia is charged the 85 EGP Greater Cairo delivery rate and still takes a deposit, because Qalyubia is its own governorate. The delivery charge and the deposit are two separate things and they do not always move together. If you are not certain which governorate your address falls under, the confirmation call is the place to settle it, and it costs you nothing to ask.

The rule reads the other way for the two names the checkout list has not caught up with. 6th of October sits inside Giza and Helwan sits inside Cairo, so if your address falls under either of them you are in Giza or in Cairo: no deposit is asked for, and the courier collects the whole amount at your door.

When is the rest of the money paid?

At your door, in cash, when the courier hands over the parcel. The deposit counts towards the total, so what the courier collects is the remainder and nothing more. If you would rather know that figure before the courier arrives, ask for it on the confirmation call and we will tell you what the balance will be.

Keep the transfer receipt until the parcel is in your hands. We will not usually ask for it, but it is the fastest way to settle any confusion about what has been paid and what is still owed.

Delivery rates

Delivery is charged by region and shown at checkout before you confirm.

We dispatch from Cairo and deliver across all 27 governorates.

Checkout still offers 6th of October and Helwan as separate options. Neither is a governorate any more: both were abolished in 2011 and folded back into Giza and Cairo. An address under either one is treated as Giza or Cairo, so it pays the 85 EGP Greater Cairo rate and no deposit is asked for.

The bands above set the delivery charge only. Whether a deposit is asked for is a separate question and depends on the governorate itself, so read the table for what delivery costs and the sections above for what you pay when.

A refused parcel costs both sides, and the usual reason is a size the buyer was not sure about. The size chart gives every size flat, in centimetres, along with a way to check it against a top you already wear.

Order confirmation

You will receive an email confirmation as soon as your order is placed. If you do not see it, check your spam folder before assuming the order failed.

The email is an automatic receipt and it is not the confirmation call. The call comes from a person, it comes to the number you put on the order within 48 hours, and for addresses outside Cairo and Giza it is the call that settles the deposit. If the number on your order has a typo in it we have no way of reaching you, so it is worth checking that field before you confirm.
